I’ve also been an enthusiastic developer and workaholic for many years. I love what I do and have been challenging myself to improve every day.

Having a lot of work is not a synonym for success. And I confess that sometimes I feel bad for not being “productive” with my free time. Is it terrible to have some time for myself?

On the contrary, I can see a productive boost when watching a movie or playing video games with my wife and daughter. It’s healthy to reset your brain and relax by doing things you like rather than work.

Taking some time for your own is not a sin. It would be best to disconnect from work or even your mobile and all social network apps and start living and being present in your real life.

You can still grow professionally and live a balanced life. That’s how I define success when your work is just the road, not the destination. You don’t live to work; you work to live.

Note to my future self: remember this feeling and remember to search for a work-life balance.
